Getting recognition within my community by being nominated for Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2022 Diva Awards has been a highlight since setting up Sappho Events over a year ago.

We were created to fulfil a very specific and under-serviced market of queer women and non-binary people in the UK who want alternatives to alcohol-fuelled social events, and it has filled me with so much encouragement to not only see our happy returning customers, but also the strength of our community to nurture Sappho and help it grow.

Attending the Diva Awards alongside absolute heroes of the LGBTQIA+ community was a ‘pinch me’ moment, and I hope Sappho will go from strength to strength, and continue to be of service to our community.
