As a PR professional, Maryann specialises in theatre PR and corporate communications.

In theatre PR, Maryann offers small to mid scale consulting at day rates or project-based fees (such as a musical/play/concert). She has run off-West End, UK touring, cast album launches, and one-off announcement PR campaigns. Standard campaigns involve:

  • Strategy – target audience, target media, key messages, KPIs
  • Drafting and distributing press releases to print, online and broadcast media
  • Organising interviews, editorial content, and listings
  • Organising reviewers for press night
  • Clippings and a full final report of secured PR content

For corporate communications, Maryann offers a consulting rate based on the expertise of a Senior Account Director or Vice Associate, and has four strands of consulting:

  • Strategic Advisory – designing an over-arching media and communications strategy, including messaging and industry positioning.
  • Publicity Campaign – day-to-day enactment of publicity campaign including pitching to the media, organising interviews, writing media releases, coverage reporting.
  • Public Speaking/Media Training – support for interview technique (print, broadcast, online) and building confidence when publicly fronting your company or brand.
  • Crisis Management – both proactive and reactive reputation management.

Maryann ran her boutique PR agency The Wright Publicity in Australia for many years, consulting for AB Publicity and Pollack Consulting on Australia’s biggest musicals, concerts and festivals.

In London, Maryann managed the PR for some of the entertainment industry’s biggest names alongside issue-led communications for leading UK charities at BLJ London, including Andrew Lloyd Webber and the Really Useful Group, Trafalgar Entertainment (Sir Howard Panter and Dame Rosemary Squire), The Prince’s Teaching Institute (with patronage from HRH His Majesty the King), ACAMAR Films (Bing TV series creator Mikael Shields), Halcyon Art Gallery (including Bob Dylan and Lorenzo Quinn international exhibitions during Miami Art Basel and Venice Biennale), Modern Art Museum Shanghai (launch), and Centrepoint youth homelessness charity (for CEO Seyi Obakin, with patronage from HRH Prince William).

She now works in a freelance capacity, PR consulting for the theatre and entertainment sector, including Mobius for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, MMGY Global for Brand USA, Broadway Records for UK cast album launches, and more.
